NEW – Plan to join a pre-conference workshop in Strasbourg!
ASOBIOTICS 2025 is an informal workshop open to everyone interested in the basic principles and diverse applications of RNA-targeting short antisense oligomers (ASOs) to modulate gene expression in bacteria.

This workshop is a sequel to the international symposium ASOBIOTICS 2024, which took place in Würzburg last year (check out the meeting report at HERE).

This year’s workshop will be hosted by the NetRNA consortium and take place at the Institute of Molecular Biology of Plants, CNRS, Strasbourg (Léon Hirth conference room).

There will be no registration fee, but we ask participants to register HERE, primarily for planning reasons, as there will be coffee and a standing sandwich lunch. We will have a few pre-arranged lectures including a special session on siderophore-based ASO delivery.

If you want to give a short oral presentation or present a poster on RNA target selection and ASO design, evaluation of ASO chemistry, delivery technologies and bacterial uptake mechanisms, and applications to model microbes, microbial consortia and phages, please send an informal email with your abstract to asobiotics2025@nullhelmholtz-hiri.de.  Your abstract will be reviewed by the organizing committee and to see if it can be accommodated in the program.

Regarding logistics, the program will begin at 9 a.m. and finish by 2:30 p.m. to allow for enough time to transition to the Strasbourg Congress Center where the Microbes & RNA 2025 conference starts at 4 p.m. on Monday, September 1.

To stay up-to-date on the workshop, please visit Asobiotics 2025.

With best regards,
Jörg Vogel, Redmond Smyth, and Joanna Trylska
